Inclusion Research Conversation Series: What’s new in the field of Disability Economics?

During this session, renowned disability economist Dr. Stapleton will:

  • Provide an overview of the field of disability economics, it’s history and current status
  • Discuss the well-established relationship between poverty and disability, and its implications for policy, advocacy, research, and service delivery
  • Describe the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the disability community
  • Examine the American system of disability benefits and its role in the employment and economic self-sufficiency of people with disabilities
  • Suggest strategies for promoting financial literacy and education among people with disabilities
