Responsibilities: I create accessible content for HDI and help projects use technology to be more efficient and accessible. I develop and present training on accessible information and communication technology (ICT). I also work with outside groups on improving accessibility and user experience. I evaluate HDI employees for worksite accommodations when it’s needed.

Experiences: I have been with HDI since 2011. For over a decade, I worked as a Rehabilitation Technologist on the Kentucky Vocational Rehabilitation project. I have a strong background in creating digital media that is engaging and accessible to everyone. I also consult with small businesses to help them set up their technology and maintain their online presence.

Reason: I love technology and teaching, and my job lets me combine both. I care a lot about disability advocacy because of my own experience. I am a T-6 paraplegic and wheelchair user after an ATV accident in 2007. I believe designing products for everyone is not only easy and fun but also aligns with our core values.

Research:

Interests: I love technology, especially experimenting with development platforms for electronic prototyping such as the Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
