Housing Futures

Kentucky faces a consistent and significant shortage of accessible and affordable housing.  This has created a persistent challenge for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who want to live independently. The Housing Futures Project, funded by the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities, aims to tackle this issue!  We will be meeting with individuals and their families to discuss their housing options, and conducting home assessments to evaluate accessibility, usability, and suitability for independent living. By identifying ways we can modify the home environment, implementing environmental controls, and advocating for better housing solutions, this initiative will help address those barriers and allow for a future with more choice and independence!
