Fall Seminar: Medicaid Waivers 101

Join us in person or online for our Fall Seminar series on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 1 – 3pm ET to learn more about to learn more about Kentucky’s Medicaid waivers in an HDI seminar titled “Medicaid Waivers 101.’” Learn more from expert Lori Gresham (Clinical Program Manager Senior for the Department of Medicaid Services). The seminar will be held at the UK Coldstream Research Campus Human Development Institute Training Room 1525 Bull Lea Road, Lexington KY. A link to the live video stream of the seminar will be sent to registrants.

  • Lori Gresham—Clinical Program Manager Senior for the Department of Medicaid Services

More than 1 in 3 adults under age 65 enrolled in Medicaid have a disability. Medicaid provides essential medical care and supportive services that help many persons with disabilities remain in their homes and communities. The Department of Medicaid Services (DMS) will provide a basic overview of Kentucky’s six 1915 (c) Medicaid waivers and the services they provide for people with disabilities. We will discuss the process for applying for waivers. Lastly, we will discuss upcoming waiver redesign and provide avenues to provide feedback to guide the process.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will learn a basic overview of Medicaid waivers and the services provided.
  2. Participants will become familiar with how to apply for Medicaid waivers.
  3. Participants will be able to discuss upcoming waiver redesign and avenues for providing feedback.

CEU’s are pending in Rehabilitation Counseling in conjunction with the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
