Dr. Travis A. Freeman is a 1999 graduate of Corbin High School, where he was a top ten student and four-year lettered athlete for the Redhound football team. After losing his sight at the age of twelve due to a severe infection, Travis played backup center for the Redhounds from 1995-1998, as America’s first blind football player. In 1999, the National High School Athletic Hall of Fame awarded Travis the first annual Travis Freeman Achievement Award, recognizing his achievements on the football field.
