Dr. Jane O’Regan Kleinert is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Health Sciences. Her primary research and teaching interests are in communication services for students with the most significant disabilities and pediatric feeding disorders. Dr. Kleinert is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and past winner of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation’s DiCarlo Award for Clinical Excellence. While at UK Dr. Kleinert was involved in multiple grant funded projects in the area of inter-professional services and communication interventions for students with severe disabilities totaling over $10,000,000. She has multiple journal and electronic publications and training materials. Dr. Kleinert has lectured nationally and internationally as well. She has been a practicing SLP for 44 years. She continues to teach occasionally in the LINKS project classes (for the College of Health Sciences/Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders) on tele-delivery of services to students with severe disabilities and works a bit with both the TAALC and TIES projects, affiliated with the UK Human Development Institute, on communication for students with complex communication needs.
