Allison Carll White, Ph.D., is a Professor in the School of Interiors where she teaches a variety of courses ranging from healthcare and workplace design to a kitchen and bath course focusing on residential interiors. Both universal design and the Americans with Disabilities Act are key components in each of the courses. It is imperative that designers consider the needs and abilities of all users in designing the built environment. During her years at UK, she has guided HDI Certificate students in their coursework and in completing their focused projects exploring various aspects of universal design. Dr. Carll-White received her Ph.D. in Environmental Factors from the University of Tennessee.
