The Positive Family Networks and Supports Initiative is an AUCD/CDC Community of Practice on Parenting, Behavioral Concerns & Strategy. This COP includes the Human Development Institute (HDI), Kentucky-Special Parent Involvement Network (KY-SPIN) and the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities. We disseminate CDC-based resources about young children’s development and how to address behavioral concerns. As a central part of this work, we have created three one-hour training modules based on the CDC-developed Family Interaction Training (FIT). The materials have been adapted for Early Care and Education (ECE) Providers into courses that provide required training credits (ECE 104, 105, & 106, available at https://www.hdilearning.org/course-catalog/?woo_category=40). These modules assist child care providers with evidence-based training and resources to use in their classrooms, to engage families, and to achieve higher levels of quality care. These resources are free of charge and available to any professionals or families who are interested in learning evidence-based practice for interacting with young children.
