Responsibilities: This RA position works with several different areas of HDI. I have worked on data analysis for the project ‘Health and Wellness for Kentucky Provider Agencies.’ For this project, I utilized SPSS and created accessible visualizations of the data. I attend the Consumer Advisory Meetings and take the minutes for the board members. I assist with the promotion and marketing of HDI’s Fall and Spring Seminar Series. After the Seminar Series, I will caption the recordings on youtube.com so that they will be accessible to all audiences. I completed the Association for University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Trainee Orientation Modules. AUCD created these modules to increase Trainee engagement. My RA position started as HDI was preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Being able to contribute to celebrations was an enjoyable task. For the 50th anniversary 5K, I helped to set up before the event, and I took photos at mile two while also handing out water. For the 50th anniversary gala, I created a graphic design theme for all the programs, menus, and other printables. As a member of the decorating committee, I helped to create a photo booth backdrop and the table centerpieces, as well as helped create a general décor theme for the gala. I attended StoryCorps training, where we learned about how to conduct and record interviews using the skills of active and empathetic listening skills. Another project I worked on was updating the website for Transition One Stop.
