Responsibilities: Coordinate statewide professional development efforts for early care and education providers.Collaborate with the Cabinet for Health & Family Services, the Kentucky Department of Education, and training agencies to support delivery of evidence-based professional development.Oversee administration of professional development quality assurance and scholarship program.Submit recommendations for regulation and policy development. Guide a network of Professional Development Coaches who deliver technical assistance to early care and education providers.
Experiences: I have earned a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and have completed the Harvard Business Management Certificate, the Kentucky Department of Education Administrative Management Certificate, and the Kentucky Cohesive Leadership System Certificate. I recently served as Project Director for two statewide system of care expansion implementation grants focusing on improving the service delivery system for young children (birth to 5) who have serious social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges.
Reason: My 25+ years of experience is complemented by the ability to represent the family voice through personal experience as the primary caregiver for my stepson who has serious social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
Research: Effective and efficient coordination, collaboration, and facilitation of teamwork can enhance the success of research projects. As director of multiple federal and state funded initiatives, I have maximized fiscal and human resources to implement, evaluate, and sustain project goals and activities.
Interests: My personal interests include spending time with my family, traveling, enjoying the performing arts and sports.
