IHE Webinar #5: Unleashing Possibility in Higher Education

Universal design principles can build environments that are accessible to the broadest array of users. Learn about strategies that maximize usability in physical and virtual environments. We will examine a variety of applications of universal design at use in the higher education classroom. There will also be discussion around a Universal Design certificate offered at the University of Kentucky. The process and development for creating Comprehensive Transition Programs (CTP) will be highlighted, as a means for students with intellectual disabilities in higher education to access federal Pell grants, work-study, and attainment of a meaningful credential following two years of course work and experiential education opportunities.
