Learning Objectives: Project SCOPE’s (Supporting Children of the OPioid Epidemic) Spring 2022 Training Series is underway! Join us for our sixth session on Thursday, April 21st to learn how justice-involved individuals, with a Dependency, Neglect or Abuse case action experience significantly higher rates of substance use and mental health disorders. Discover how a court utilizing best practices in implementing a Recovery-Oriented System of Care model can increase individual successes through judicial referral to treatment and recovery supports that emphasis the importance of building recovery capital, which can substantially impact an individual, their family and the community. In this session we will cover: • The role of the judiciary in family law cases where substance use disorders are a primary underlying factor • The importance of a collaborative partnership between the court system and behavioral health providers to provide positive outcomes • The role of peer supports within the court system to aid in transition to recovery support services
