HDI Seminar Series: Disruptive Behavior in Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Oppositional Defiance Behavior

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and the concurrent problem of Oppositional Defiant Disorder frequently co-exist and are two of the most frequent childhood and adolescent problems referred for mental health intervention. This seminar will focus upon the evaluation of these problematic behaviors, along with providing specific, evidence-based treatment strategies which can be utilized at home, school, and out in public. For those parents and professionals who interact with children having ADHD and Oppositional Defiance, a clear meaning of the clinical and behavioral manifestations of these disorders will be discussed and illustrated in video segments. This Seminar is directed to early childcare professionals, educators, counselors, social workers, and psychologists as well as parents. The pathways leading to explosive behavior in children will also be discussed, as well as interventions to decrease and minimize these behaviors.
